Welcome

We are here to make available to cancer patients and their families information on their diagnosis and treatment (via free brochures, internet access and assistance, and books available for preview) and to provide them with avenues to pursue services that are available to them (supplemental funding, free web site construction, children's services, support groups, etc.)

Cindi's Library is named in memory of Cynthia Spooner Hankes. It is an organization funded entirely by charitable donations through the EAMC Foundation and staffed with volunteers. Cindi's Library is located in the Cancer Center of the East Alabama Medical Center and serves all cancer patients and their families, free of charge. The library contains books, free brochures, a comfortable place to read, two computers with internet access, and a web-site with specific information about types of cancer, treatment options, and support services. An area called "Lisa's Corner" has been established in memory of Lisa Tankersly to hold books related to children. Cindi's Library is the only centralized location in East Alabama that provides easy access to cancer related information to allow patients and their families to concentrate on getting well.
